Abstract

Anemia is a condition of the body where the Hb level in the blood is lower than normal (women 12.0 grams/100 ml). Anemia can be prevented by routinely consuming Fe tablets in accordance with health provisions. If it occurs in female students, it will affect their health which results in a decrease in immunity so that they can be easily attacked by diseases which will ultimately have an impact on learning achievement. The long-term effect of anemia in adolescent girls is the inability to meet the nutritional needs for themselves. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Fe Tablet consumption and the incidence of anemia in seventh grade students, this type of research is quantitative analytic with a cross sectional study design. The population in this study amounted to 229 people with a sample of 145 people taken with the Stratified Random Sampling technique. Data collection tools in this study using questionnaires and measuring Hemoglobin levels with Digital Haemoglobin Test. This study uses univariate and bivariate analysis with chi square test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between Fe tablet consumption and the incidence of anemia in seventh grade students with a P value of 0.000. It is expected for seventh grade students to consume Fe tablets that have been given of health workers to avoid anemia. Keywords: Iron Tablet Consumption, Incidence of Anemia
