Abstract

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in toddlers due to chronic malnutrition so that the child is too short for his age. Malnutrition can occur when the baby is in the womb and in the early days after the child is born, but only appears after the child is 2 years old. The implementation of PHBS indicators in the household can improve the health status of family members. The higher the implementation of PHBS in the household, the fewer people will be affected by disease. The aim of the research is to analyze the relationship between the implementation of clean and healthy living behavior by parents and the incidence of stunting among toddlers in the Lipat Kain Community Health Center working area in 2023. This type of research is quantitative with a cross sectional design. The research was conducted on 15-18 September 2023 with a total population and sample of 130 toddlers using a total sampling technique. Data collection uses a questionnaire. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis with the Chi Square test. The results of the Chi Square test showed a relationship between the implementation of clean and healthy living behavior by parents with a value (p value = 0.013) (p ≤ 0.05) and the incidence of stunting in toddlers. The conclusion is that there is a relationship between the implementation of clean and healthy living behavior by parents and the incidence of stunting among toddlers in Village IV Koto Setingkai, Lipat Kain Health Center Working Area in 2023. Parents are expected to implement clean and healthy living behavior in the household setting and health workers actively carry out outreach to the community so that families can know the importance of clean and healthy living behavior for family health.
