Abstract

Based on WHO data, the incidence of dysmenorrhea is very high in the world. More than 40% of women in every country experience dysmenorrhea. Based on Basic Health Research data (Riskesdas, 2018), the prevalence of dysmenorrhea in Indonesia itself is quite large, showing that dysmenorrhea sufferers reach 60-70% of women in Indonesia. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between stress and dysmenorrhea pain in female students at SMAN 01 Kampar. This research design uses a quantitative design with a cross sectional research design. The population in this study was all 190 female students of SMAN 01 Kamparclass XII. The sample in this study was 129 female students. The data analysis used in this research is univariate and bivariate analysis. From the research results in univariate analysis, it was found that the majority were in the stress category, 90 female students (69.8%) and dysmenorrhea pain was in the severe pain category, 83 female students (64.3%). Meanwhile, in the bivariate analysis, the results showed that there was a relationship between stress and dysmenorrhea pain in female students at SMAN 01 Kampar. Researchers can use it as reading material in libraries and as input for schools to provide information about reproductive health to young women
