Abstract

The role of business capital and business networks is an important part in improving the performance of MSMEs in Kampar Regency. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) are business groups that have a large percentage contribution in Indonesia. Although the number of workers needed is small, if productivity increases, MSMEs can become Large Businesses and are able to absorb a large number of workers. Furthermore, this study aims to determine the relationship between capital and business networks on the performance of MSMEs for the Culinary Sector in Kampar Regency. This research used is a quantitative method with questionnaires as a tool to collect the data. The population consists of 4,398 MSME located in Kampar Regency. However, 100 respondents were used as sample of this study. In this study, it was found that the capital variable has a positive and significant relationship to the performance of MSMEs with a sig. value of 0.008 (P <0.05). Also, the business network variable has a positive and significant relationship to the performance of MSMEs with a sig. value of 0.026 (P <0.05). The large contribution from the independent variables (capital and business networks) is 70.1%, while the remaining 29.9% is influenced or explained by other variables that are not included in this study.
