Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the use of flashcards in English can improve the vocabulary of young learners, and to find out which aspects of vocabulary have the highest increase in usage. The perspective of this research is quantitative research. The vocabulary test was used as an instrument for data collection in this study. The research subjects were children 6-8 years old in elementary school students in Bangkinang Kota. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the achievement of students' vocabulary after learning English vocabulary using flashcards. It is hoped that flashcards can be useful to improve students' vocabulary achievement.
